• The Spanish Football Federation has reached an agreement with its two Olympic teams (men's and women's) so that the 22 players and 22 players will receive "a substantial financial package to be able to be with their family or friends during the Olympic football tournament," announced the RFEF regarding the measure that has been in place since the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
• German equipment manufacturer Puma has posted a turnover of €4.219bn for the first half of 2024, down 2.1% on 2023. Net profit fell by 25% to €128.3m.
• Liverpool FC (Premier League) will host three matches for its women's team (Barclays Women's Super League) at Anfield (Liverpool, ENG) in 2024-25.
• The Austrian group Red Bull, which already owns a number of football clubs including RB Leipzig, is to acquire Omiya Ardija, a Japanese third division club.
