Paris 2024 Olympic Games: 9.5 million tickets sold, 6 million visitors to celebration sites

A record 9.5 million tickets were sold for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (previous record: 8.3 million tickets for the Atlanta Games in 1996) to spectators from 222 different countries, according to COJOP, which drew up its first figures for the Paris 2024 Games on 11/08/2024. 62% of the buyers were French, 38% came from abroad.

Other key figures include:

• a total of 743,000 spectators on 30/07 alone;

• 145,000 spectators in the supporters' squares;
• 2.4 billion views on Paris 2024 social networks;
• 24.4 million viewers watched the opening ceremony on France Télévisions."
