2024-25 Premier League: all you need to know about the 20 clubs in the English top flight

Manchester City FC, winners of the last four editions of the English top flight (2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24), will be putting their title on the line again when the 2024-25 Premier League season kicks off on Friday 16/08/2024.

Manchester City will be looking to retain their title against a host of ambitious opponents, starting with Arsenal FC, runners-up in 2023-24. Liverpool FC (3^rd last season) and Aston Villa FC (4^th) will accompany these two teams in the new league phase of the Champions League. Tottenham Hotspur FC (5^th) and Manchester United FC (8^th, but winners of the Emirates FA Cup) have qualified for the league phase of the Europa League. Chelsea FC (6^th) will have to face either SC Braga (Liga Portugal Betclic) or Servette FC (Credit Suisse Super League) on 22/08 (first leg) and 29/08 (second leg) in the Conference League play-offs to reach the group stage of the competition.
