France: DAZN available on Prime Video (Amazon) "via an additional subscription"

DAZN and Prime Video have entered into a "new distribution partnership in France" that "will give Prime Video subscribers access to a comprehensive selection of premium sports content from DAZN via an additional subscription," announced the two platforms on 15/08/2024. DAZN is already distributed by Amazon's streaming service in Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada.

This distribution agreement is the seventh made official by DAZN in France this week. The OTT sports platform, which at the beginning of August won the rights to broadcast eight of the nine Ligue 1 games per matchday until 2028-29, is stepping up its partnerships in order to maximise its visibility as the 2024-25 French top flight kicks off this Friday 16/08/2024. DAZN announced agreements with telecoms operators Bouygues Telecom, Free, Orange and SFR on 12/08/2024, and with Canal+ the following day. However, the UK platform has not yet been promised any minimum guarantees by its various co-contractors, who are also not yet offering DAZN access at a preferential rate compared with the basic package.
