Italy/Lega Serie A: Iliad (technology) presenting partner of VAR & goal-line technology

Iliad, a French telecommunications group and parent company of operator Free, has become the "innovation and technology partner" of the Lega Serie A from the 2024-25 season, announced the Italian professional league on 16/08/2024.

As part of the agreement, the French company will become the "presenting partner" for VAR and goal-line technology (GLT) in the Serie A Enilive. The brand will also be co-sponsor of the Lega Serie A technology centre (Lissone, ITA), which will be known as the Iliad International Broadcast Centre, and title sponsor of the Goal Of The Month presented by iliad, awarded by a monthly vote on the Lega Serie A's social networks.

• The Serie A became the first of the European Top 5 leagues to commercialise sponsorship rights for VAR and GLT during the 2021-22 season. These rights had previously been held by crypto-asset specialist Crypto.com.
• In the Serie BKT, sports news website StarCasino Sport (owned by bookmaker StarCasino) has been the presenting partner for VAR and GLT since 31/01/2023.
