Borussia Dortmund: record revenues of €639m (+24%) & a net profit of €44.3m in 2023-24

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) posted record revenues (including transfers) of €639m in the 2023-24 financial year (01/07/2023 to 30/06/2024), up 24% on 2022-23 (€515.4m), announced the club on 16/08/2024. BVB posted a turnover excluding transfers of €509.1m (compared with €418.2m on 30/06/2023).

Borussia Dortmund posted a positive net result for the second season running, with a profit of €44.3m - the second highest in the German club's history - compared with €9.6m at the end of the 2022-23 financial year. These figures were boosted in particular by the club's run in the Champions League, where it reached the final (losing 0-2 to Real Madrid CF on 01/06/2024) for the third time since its creation, and which brought in "approximately €120m" in TV rights alone. Merchandising revenues also came to €47.9m, up 43% compared to the previous year. On the expenditure side, the club's wage bill rose by €32.3m (+13.7%) to €268.5m (compared with €236.2m in 2022-23).
