Germany: an after-tax profit of €4.9m in 2023 for the DFB, whose reserves stand at €54.7m

The Deutscher Fussball Bund e.V., the associative structure on which the German Football Association relies, posted a profit after tax of €4.9m in 2023, according to the annual financial report approved by the board on 23/06 and published by the DFB on 16/08/2024.

"In light of the fact that the DFB Group started the 2023 financial year with a structural deficit of €19.5m, this is a very good result. It is based on three key components: The association developed and adopted a consolidation programme of around €15m in 2023, negotiated a new basic agreement with the Deutsche Fußball Liga e. V. (DFL) and, in very challenging sporting times, was able to conclude and extend contracts with major partners of the DFB," said Stephan Grunwald, DFB Treasurer, in his introduction to the 2023 financial statement (document available to download).
