Ligue 1 McDonald's: TF1 acquires rights to match recaps for its Téléfoot programme

TF1 has acquired the rights to the Ligue 1 McDonald's "for a Sunday morning magazine" from the Ligue de Football Professionnel, announced the French free-TV group on 21/08/2024.

Through this agreement, the duration of which has not been specified, "Téléfoot, the historic French football programme, becomes once again the official Sunday morning magazine of Ligue 1 McDonald's and will offer every week (from 25/08/2024), free-to-air on TF1 and TF1+, all the latest news from Ligue 1 McDonald's: match recaps, reports, behind-the-scenes footage, portraits and exclusive interviews," added TF1.

The channel owned by French industrial group Bouygues has held the rights to broadcast summaries of Ligue 1 matches for its weekly Téléfoot programme for the past three seasons (2021-2024) under a sub-licensing agreement with American e-commerce group Amazon, which owns the rights to 85% of the French top flight matches, including 80% on an exclusive basis (the top 10 fixtures, 38 second choices, 10 third choices and choices 5 to 10), which it will broadcast on its Prime Video platform over the same…
