2024-25 Bundesliga: all you need to know about the 18 clubs in the German top flight

Bayer 04 Leverkusen, German champions for the first time ever in 2023-24, will put their title on the line again from Friday 23/08/2024, when the 62^nd edition of the Bundesliga kicks off.

The club will have to face competition from FC Bayern Munich (3^rd in the standings in 2023-24), winners of the Bundesliga 11 times in a row from 2012-13 to 2022-23. Thanks to the UEFA coefficient achieved by Germany in the 2023-24 season alone (19,357 points, 2^nd best performance in Europe), the Bundesliga will send a total of five clubs to the 2024-25 Champions League. VfB Stuttgart (2^nd in 2023-24), RB Leipzig (4^th) and Borussia Dortmund (5^th) will join Bayer Leverkusen and FC Bayern in the new league phase of the competition.

Eintracht Frankfurt (6^th) and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (7^th) have qualified for the league phase of the Europa League, while 1. FC Heidenheim (8^th), who were promoted to the top flight after the 2023-24 season, are hoping to qualify for the Conference League (play-offs on 22 and 29/08/2024 versus Swedish side BK Häcken).
