2024 Paralympic Games: "Close to 250 cameras, a 25% increase compared to Tokyo" (Y. Exarchos, OBS)

"The (broadcast) quality will be elevated compared to the previous Paralympic Games. We will be using close to 250 cameras, which is almost a 25% increase compared to Tokyo 2020. The total production is gonna be around 1,450 hours. We will be deploying 2,500 people from OBS across all venues for the coverage. They come from 81 different countries, so this is really a universal effort. We will also have close to 350 University students who will participate in out our coverage as young professionals (52% women)," said Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services (the IOC subsidiary in charge of producing TV coverage of the Games), on 28/08/2024.

Exarchos spoke during the first daily press briefing dedicated to the broadcasting of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and organised by the IPC and Paris 2024 at the Main Media Centre (MPC). Also present were:
