2024-25 Champions League: PSG-Man. City & Real Madrid-Dortmund among the fixtures in the new format

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 McDonald's) - Manchester City FC (Premier League) at the Parc des Princes and Real Madrid CF (LALIGA EA Sports) - Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) at the Santiago Bernabéu will be among the fixtures in the 2024-25 Champions League, according to the draw carried out for the first time by a software programme at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on 29/08/2024.

As UEFA enters the 2024-2027 cycle, the competition will adopt a new format with 36 teams (instead of 32) drawn from four pots (places are determined by the number of UEFA coefficient points accumulated over the last five seasons), who will be ranked in a single table, thus putting an end to the group stage that has existed until now. Each team in the competition will play two teams from each pot, with eight matches to be played - four at home and four away - instead of the six previously, against different opponents each time. No team from the same country can play against each other at this stage, and a club cannot play against more than two clubs from the same league.
