Egypt: more than 30 deaths in events before ENPPI-Zamalek match, the league has been suspended

At least 30 people are dead and dozens more are injured, according to the Egyptian Interior Ministry, after serious incidents occurred before the ENPPI-Zamalek match (1-1, 20th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League) played at the Borg Al Arab stadium, Cairo (Egypt), on 08/02/2015.

Clashes broke out between supporters of the club Zamalek, who were trying to break into the enclosure, and police, who fired tear gas, causing a stampede. "The 19 deaths are due to the stampede, none are from gunshot wounds. The bodies have many bruises, some have broken necks, "said Khaled Al Khatib, head of Cairo emergency services told the AFP on 08/02/2015.

The Egyptian Federation has declared three days of mourning and announced the suspension of the championship until further notice on 08/02/2015.
