Spain: Ramón Plaza Bautista (ex-Real Madrid CF) appointed commercial director of the RFEF

Ramón Plaza Bautista has joined the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol as director of the new commercial and business development department, according to the RFEF on 02/09/2024.

A former member of the Johan Cruyff Institute and You First Sports, the Barcelona native joins the RFEF after 12 years with Real Madrid CF (LALIGA EA Sports), where he was responsible for marketing VIP hospitality.

The arrival of Ramón Plaza marks "a new stage in which the RFEF wants to continue working to open up to society and present Spanish football to new channels of commercial relations, always with the aim of getting new companies to sign up to the Spanish football team, the Copa del Rey, the Copa de la Reina, etc.," said the Spanish Federation, which earned €115.4m in 2023 from audiovisual rights, with sponsorship and merchandising reaching €76.2m.
