LFP: Christophe Bouchet asks Amélie Oudéa-Castéra (Minister for Sport) to suspend electoral process

"I ask you to suspend this electoral process without delay, to place the LFP under the supervision of the FFF and to order the FFF to draw up statutes as quickly as possible that will encourage truly independent candidates and thus provoke a debate that professional football cannot do without after several years of haphazard management," wrote Christophe Bouchet, candidate for the presidency of the Ligue de Football Professionnel, to Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, French Minister (resigned) for Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, in a letter dated 02/09/2024.

The former president and shareholder of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 McDonald's), who refers to the authority that the MSJOP exercises over the LFP via the public service delegation granted to the FFF, denounced in particular a "curious deal" regarding the sponsorship of Cyril Linette (also a candidate for the presidency) by the UAF and a change of rules "at the very last moment" concerning that of Foot Unis.
