beIN SPORTS France: discussions "ongoing" for NBA & Serie A TV rights in 2024-25

"Discussions are still ongoing regarding NBA TV rights. These are historic rights for beIN. The 2024-25 season starts at the end of October 2024 (on 22/10). There is still time to discuss and hope to renew these rights. We have a very good relationship with the NBA. While the NBA organises game in France every year, it's also because interest in the NBA here has exploded thanks to beIN. Everything is still possible for the 2024-25 season," said Florent Houzot, director of broadcasting, programmes and editorial at beIN SPORTS France, during the pay-TV group's back-to-school conference on 05/09/2024.

The contract with beIN, which has been broadcasting the NBA in France since 2012, expires at the end of the 2023-24 season. No broadcaster has yet acquired the rights to broadcast the North American league for the 2024-25 season in France, while the American e-commerce group Amazon has obtained NBA TV rights in France from 2025-26 as part of its global agreement signed with the NBA on 24/07/2024.
