"Vincent Labrune's re-election must come hand in hand with far-reaching reforms that will enable French professional football to embark on a new era, in order to meet the many challenges that lie ahead if it intends to keep up with those who are leading the way at European level," said the French Professional Footballers' Union (UNFP), which "takes due note of and congratulates the new president of the LFP" on 10/09/2024.

The former president of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 McDonald's) has been re-elected for a four-year term (2024-2028) at the head of the Ligue de Football Professionnel after receiving 85.67% of the votes from the LFP's general assembly in the first round against Cyril Linette, the only other candidate. He will lead a board of directors composed of 17 members (previously 25), including two representatives of the French players' union: Philippe Piat (president of UNFP) and David Terrier (vice-president).
