2024 Paralympic Games: 20 million unique viewers in the UK on Channel 4

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games were watched by 20 million unique viewers (audience reach) on the channels of Channel 4, the exclusive broadcaster of the event in the UK, which represents "one third (33%) of the total TV population," announced the British public broadcaster on 11/09/2024.

Among the figures communicated by Channel 4 :
• the channel secured a total audience share of 8.8% during the eleven days of competitive action, up 23% on the Tokyo 2020 Games;
• viewers watched a total of 7.3 billion viewer minutes across linear and streaming, up from 4.9 billion for Tokyo 2020;
• Paralympics content has generated 41 million views across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram as of 11/09/2024;
• more than 2.4 million livestreams and 2.1 million non-live streams were recorded on Channel 4’s YouTube streaming platform.

The closing ceremony drew an average of 1.1 million viewers to the channel on Sunday 08/09/2024, a 200% increase on the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games closing ceremony, according to Channel 4.
