Premier League: Sky and BT will pay €2.3bn per season for the TV rights to the 2016-2019 cycle

The Premier League has awarded lots A, C, D, E, and G (a total of 126 matches per season) to the British pay-tv group Sky plc. (Sky Sports) and lots B and F (42 matches per season) to the communications group BT (BT Sport channels), on 10/02/2015. The amount of the auction for the seven lots, reached £5.136bn (€6.92bn) for the three seasons of the 2016-2019 period, £1.712bn (€2.3bn) per season.

The seven lots awarded corresponded to the main ITT (Invitation To Tender) for the audiovisual rights to the 2016-2019 cycle of the Premier League, which was launched on 12/12/2014.

• The Sterling / Euro conversion rate used for the 2013-2016 period is that of July 2013 (£1 = €1.16, instead of €1.35 on 11/02/2015)
