ECA: launch of a programme to encourage women to join club executive bodies

The European Club Association has launched the "Women on board" programme, the aim of which is to encourage women to join the executive bodies of the European football ecosystem, announced the ECA on 13/09/2024. Fifteen female executives (see list below) who currently participate in the organisation's various working groups and committees have been invited to take part in the initial version of this programme.

This will be "a key component of the implementation of ECA Sustainability strategy around equality, diversity and inclusion. By 2027, ECA is targeting 25% female representation on its own board, and 40% representation within its working groups," said Gaia Pretner, head of sustainability at the ECA.

"Women on board" was designed by the ECA's board. "Women on board" is designed by ECA's Campus department, in collaboration with the Women in Football (WIF) association.
