European Top 5: FC Barcelona, the club where U21s played the most minutes between 2021 & 2024 (CIES)

FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) is the club from the European Top 5 with the highest percentage of minutes played by players under the age of 21 between 09/09/2021 and 09/09/2024, according to the CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post", published on 18/09/2024.

With 22.6% of minutes played by players who have not yet celebrated their 21^st birthday at the time of the match, Barça are ahead of two Ligue 1 McDonald's clubs, Olympique Lyonnais (20.7%) and Le Havre AC (16.8%).

The percentage of minutes played by under-21s is above 10% at 17 clubs in the European Top 5: eight from France, three from Spain, three from the Bundesliga, two from the Premier League and one from Serie A Enilive.

Two clubs in the European Top 5 did not field any players under 21 in their league over the period, and a total of 10 clubs gave them less than 1% of the playing time available, including four from Italy, three from Germany, two from Spain and one from England.
