Nike: Elliott Hill, former president of consumer & marketplace, to replace John Donahoe as CEO

American Elliott Hill, former director of consumer and marketplace at Nike before his retirement in 2020, is to rejoin the group to become CEO, announced the American equipment manufacturer on 19/09/2024. Hill will take up his post on 14/10/2024, replacing John Donahoe, who will remain an advisor to the brand until 31/01/2025 "to ensure a smooth transition".

In addition to his role as CEO, Elliott Hill has been appointed director of the board and a member executive committee at Nike. Hill joined the group in January 1988 and held a number of positions until 2020, including vice president and general manager for North America (from 2010 to 2013) and vice president in charge of retail (from 2006 to 2010).

Nike Group generated a turnover of $51.36bn (€47.47bn) in the 2023-24 financial year (01/06/2023 to 31/05/2024), up $145m on 2022-23 (+0.3%, on a currency-neutral basis), according to financial results published by the Beaverton, Oregon-based equipment manufacturer on 27/06/2024.
