UEFA Women's Euro 2029: Germany an official candidate for hosting the competition

The Deutscher Fussball Bund is bidding to host the UEFA Women's Euro 2029, announced the German Football Association on 20/09/2024. "A declaration of interest will be submitted to UEFA before the deadline of 24/09/2024."

Germany, which has just hosted the men's Euro 2024 but whose bid (together with Belgium and the Netherlands) to host the Women's World Cup 2027 was unsuccessful (in favour of Brazil), will be competing with Portugal (announced on 04/09/2024) and the duo formed by Denmark and Sweden (announced on 23/07/2024). The host country or countries will be chosen by the UEFA executive committee in December 2025.

"The sustainable development of women in football and women's football, and therefore also the implementation of the FF 27 (Women in Football) strategy, is a top priority within the DFB. The bid to organise the Women's Euro 2029 is a flagship project for us and will give an additional boost to these areas," explained Bernd Neuendorf, president of the German Football Association, which has already hosted the event twice, in 1989 and 2001.
