Eagle Football Group: a "cost rationalisation plan" that could lead to a "voluntary departure plan"

"Eagle Football Group will implement a cost rationalisation plan to adapt to the new realities and revenue prospects of Ligue 1 and will shortly be initiating discussions with employee representatives that may lead to a voluntary departure plan," announced the American company that owns Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 McDonald's), 23/09/2024.

The company, headed by American John Textor, "provides this update regarding recent events and informs on future prospects." Among its other announcements:
• EFG says the completion of the sale of its parent company Eagle Football Holdings' (EFH) stake in Crystal Palace FC (Premier League) is expected to take place at the end of 2024;
• OL's 2024 summer transfer window balance "showed a deficit of around €106m";
• "EFH intends to provide EFG with working capital financing (approximately €40m) in the coming weeks, enabling it to meet its obligations, which will be realised under the existing cash pooling arrangement in place with EFH."
