Genoa CFC (Serie A Enilive) and UC Sampdoria (Serie BKT) have set up Genova Stadium Srl with the aim of "formulating a bid for the purchase of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris (36,348 capacity, Genoa, ITA) and its subsequent future development," announced the two clubs on 23/09/2024.

Genoa and Sampdoria operate the stadium, which is owned by the city of Genoa (Liguria), through a joint company, "Luigi Ferraris Srl", under an occupancy agreement that runs until 2024-25.

If the plan to buy the stadium from Genova Stadium Srl is successful, the two clubs, in collaboration with the city of Genoa, will present a renovation project to the authorities at the end of 2024, for an estimated investment of between €60-80m.

The objective for Genoa and Sampdoria, who each own 50% of the company, is for the Stadio Luigi Ferraris to be selected to host Euro 2032, which will be co-hosted by Italy and Turkey.
