Manchester United FC: redevelopment of Old Trafford could create 92,000 jobs

The redevelopment of Old Trafford (Manchester, ENG) into a 100,000-seat stadium could generate the creation of 92,000 permanent jobs in the United Kingdom, according to Manchester United FC (Premier League) on 23/09/2024.

The club has published the preliminary results of a report commissioned from Oxford Economics on the impact that the renovation of its current stadium (74,879 capacity) will have on the local and national economy. Among other points put forward by the club, the project would:
• generate an additional £7.3bn (€8.7bn) annually for the British economy;
• the construction of 17,000 new homes around Old Trafford;
• bring an additional 1.8 million visitors to the region.
