United Nations: "CAF is committed to building a better Africa and a better world" (Patrice Motsepe)

"CAF and its member associations that represent 54 African countries are committed to working together with the United Nations to promote and achieve the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and building a better Africa and a better world," said Patrice Motsepe (RSA), president of the Confederation of African Football, on 22/09/2024.

The African body "has joined the United Nations' 'Football for the Goals' initiative and is emphasizing its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals," explained CAF.

"Football for the Goals" is a United Nations initiative that provides a platform for the global football community to engage and advocate for sustainable development. "It is an opportunity to build on football's powerful and influential reach and to work together to become agents of change," explained the UN.

Members of "Football for the Goals" commit to five principles:
