Bundesliga domestic TV rights 2025-2029: DAZN's complaint accepted, Lot B put up for auction again

"In arbitration proceedings under the rules of the Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit (German Institution of Arbitration, DIS), an arbitration tribunal has partially upheld the complaint filed by DAZN at the end of April against the award of rights Package (Lot) B (all individual Bundesliga matches on Friday and Saturday afternoons) in the media rights tender for the 2025-26 to 2028-29 seasons. The awarding of rights Package B will be carried out anew by the DFL as part of the media rights tender," announced the Deutsche Fußball Liga on 24/09/2024.

The Deutsche Fußball Liga suspended its tender for domestic media rights to the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga for the 2025-2029 cycle (four seasons), which was launched on 15/04/2024, following a complaint from OTT platform DAZN, on 17/04/2024. The British streaming service sent a letter to the DFL, the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs and the German Federal Cartel Office (competition authority) accusing the league of "illegal behaviour" in the process.
