Luton Town FC: planning permission for a new 25,000-seat stadium approved by Luton Borough Council

Luton Borough Council (England) has granted Luton Town FC (Sky Bet Championship) planning permission to build a new 25,000-seat stadium on the Power Court brownfield site in the town centre, announced the club on 24/09/2024.

LTFC, which submitted its application on 13/09/2024, has published its full planning permission application. It provides for:
• the construction of a 25,000-seat stadium, with retail and catering facilities, conference rooms and a car park;
• the development of roads near the site;
• the creation of a concert hall;
• the construction of a hotel.

Luton Town, relegated to the second division at the end of the 2023-24 season, has highlighted the local impact of its project. Around 1,200 full-time jobs could be created, while the project would generate an additional £3.5m (€4.2m) a year in spending for Luton's local economy and the surrounding area, according to the club.
