DTT frequencies: C8, NRJ 12 & Le Média TV's appeals for interim measures rejected by State Council

The Conseil d'État (Council of State, France's highest court of administrative justice) has dismissed the interim appeals lodged by the C8 (Canal+ group) and NRJ 12 (NRJ group) channels concerning the non-renewal of their DTT frequencies from 2025, ruling that "the condition of urgency has not been met" on 25/09/2024. The appeal lodged by the proposed Le Média TV channel (SCIC Le Média) was also rejected by the court.

Arcom announced the shortlist of channels that had applied for 15 national DTT frequencies from 2025 (see below), on 24/07/2024. The C8 (Canal+ group) and NRJ 12 (NRJ group) projects were not selected (unlike the new OF TV and RéelsTV projects), even though these two channels have had a DTT frequency since 31/03/2005. The Canal+, NRJ and Le Média groups each decided to lodge an appeal for interim measures against this decision with the Conseil d'État, which stated that these appeals would be examined "on their merits by the end of November."
