"When women's football in Spain was professionalised, the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD) had already invested millions. A certain amount went to Liga F, another to the clubs and the rest to teams not affiliated to a men's pro club. The government shouldn't be investing any more money. We are a company with a product and we need to be able to exploit it, be sustainable and generate income. In Spain, we have the best in the world (in terms of sporting potential)," said Amanda Gutiérrez, president of Futpro, the Spanish professional players' union, to Palco23 on 26/09/2024.

"As long as there are managers in women's football who don't understand that it's a product that can be profitable, there will always be a flight of talent to other leagues. The quality of Liga F will decline, its calendar will remain too full and its competitiveness will drop. FC Barcelona is the best example of success: they have been investing in their women's section for years and are reaping both sporting and economic success," continued Gutiérrez.
