FC Bayern Basketball: inauguration of the SAP Garden (11,500 capacity) in Munich (GER) on 03/10/2024

FC Bayern Basketball (easyCredit BBL) will open its new SAP Garden (Munich, GER) when it plays host to Real Madrid (Liga Endesa) on Game day 1 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season on Thursday 03/10/2024.

The 11,500-seat arena in basketball configuration is located in Munich's Olympic Park and belongs to Red Bull Stadion München. Its construction cost the subsidiary of the Austrian Red Bull Group €150m.

The SAP Garden will host "a minimum of 20 fixtures per season" for the FC Bayern Munich basketball team, which in 2021 received a "long-term" licence to participate in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The Bavarian club will continue to play its other games, including most of those in the German basketball league, at the BMW Park (6,700 capacity) in Munich.

Red Bull München ice hockey's home games will also be staged at the SAP Garden. Red Bull München will make its debut in its new stadium on 27/09, with an exhibition game against the Buffalo Sabres (NHL).
