Cameroon: FIFA sanctions FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto'o for criticising refereeing

"The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the president of the Cameroonian Football Association (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto'o, with a six-month ban from attending matches of Cameroon's representative teams for breaches of articles 13 (Offensive behaviour and violations of the principles of fair play) and 14 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code," announced the international federation on 30/09/2024.

The sanction - which comes into force on 30/09/2024 - relates to the Round of 16 match between Brazil and Cameroon in the U20 Women's World Cup (3-1 after extra time) in Bogota, Colombia, on 11/09/2024, according to FIFA.

During the match, Samuel Eto'o contested a penalty awarded to Brazil in the 35^th minute, when the Cameroonians were leading 1-0.

The ban imposed on Samuel Eto'o "prevents him from attending mens' and women's matches involving FECAFOOT teams of all categories and age groups," according to FIFA.
