Club Atlético de Madrid: a record 70,112 fans at Civitas Metropolitano for derby vs Real Madrid

Club Atlético de Madrid (LALIGA EA Sports) have broken their attendance record at the Civitas Metropolitano (Madrid, ESP) with 70,112 spectators present at the stadium (70,460 capacity) for their match versus Real Madrid CF (1-1) on Matchday 8 of the 2024-25 Spanish top flight on Sunday 29/09/2024, according to the club on 30/09/2024.

This is also the first time Atlético have reached the 70,000 mark at their stadium, since their previous attendance record at home was 69,196 fans present in the stands for the match versus FC Inter Milan (Serie A Enilive) in the Round of 16 of the 2023-24 Champions League, on 13/03/2024.

The Madrid club installed 1,846 additional seats in its stadium in the summer of 2023 in order to "meet the ever-increasing demand for season ticket holders from fans and the general public". As a result, the stadium's capacity was increased from 68,614 to 70,460, with 64,440 seats in the traditional stands and 6,020 in the VIP section.
