FC Barcelona: a positive ordinary profit of €12m & a net loss of €91m in 2023-24

FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) posted a net loss of €91m for the 2023-24 financial year (from 01/07/2023 to 30/06/2024), according to the club said following its board meeting on 30/09/2024.

Although the club posted a positive ordinary profit of €12m, this result was adversely affected by "extraordinary" transactions. In particular, Barça incurred expenses of €141m linked to "non-payment by some of the participating investors" in Bridgeburg Invest, the holding company for Barça Vision, the club's content platform which brings together all its Web3, NFT and metaverse initiatives.

In 2023-24, Barça also posted:
• record sponsorship revenue of over €210m;
• a turnover of almost €110m for Barça Licensing & Merchandising (BLM);
• a positive balance of €80m on player transfers;
• an annual revenue shortfall of over €100m due to the relocation of home games to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys during the renovation and extension works at the Spotify Camp Nou.
