José Maria Cruz, CEO of Sevilla FC (LALIGA EA Sports) since 2014, is stepping down, announced the Spanish club on 05/10/2024.

José Maria Cruz had announced his intention to leave Sevilla FC after the summer of 2024 in May this year. His decision came five months after the appointment of José María del Nido Carrasco as the club's new president, succeeding José Castro Carmona, who had been president of Sevilla FC since 2013.

This change at the head of the Andalusian club was part of a pact agreed by the main shareholders in 2019, but also against a backdrop of conflict between them and the other shareholders, which led to the rejection of the 2022-23 annual accounts (by 53.3%) and the board of directors' management report (by 57%) at the club's general assembly on 04/12/2023.

The successor to José Maria Cruz, who had a first spell at Sevilla FC from 2002 to 2012, has not been announced as of 07/10/2024.
