ECA: launch of an emergency fund to support victims of wildfires in Greece

The European Club Association has launched an emergency fund to support the victims of the wildfires that occurred in the summer of 2024 in Greece by making a contribution to two NGOs: Desmos, which supports community projects throughout the country, and Eleven Campaign, an international organisation that rehabilitates football pitches damaged by fires, announced the ECA on 08/10/2024.

The ECA, which is holding its 31^st general assembly in Athens from 08 to 10/10/2024, held a meeting on the same day between local children and current or former football players to promote the projects to rebuild Greek sports facilities that will be deployed via the emergency fund.

"This initiative is testament to ECA's core objective of using the power of football transform lives, unite communities and build a sustainable future for all by creating the ECA Foundation which will be formally up and running in 2025," explained the European Club Association.
