Tennis: a record $346.2m distributed to players in 2023, including $241.6m (69.8%) by the ATP

A record total of $346.2m (€315.2m) was distributed to male tennis players who competed in the four Grand Slam tournaments and the ATP professional tours (ATP Tour and ATP Challenger Tour) in 2023, an increase of 8.5% on 2022 ($319.4m), according to the Association of Tennis Professionals on 04/10/2024.

The ATP contributed $241.6m to player compensation, or 69.8% of the total. $195m was paid in prize money, $27.9m was distributed via the ATP bonus system, while €18.7m was paid into the players' pension plan. The four Grand Slams distributed a total of $104.5m to the players, the remaining 30.2%.

"Total player compensation across the ATP Masters 1000 events and the Nitto ATP Finals, including bonus pools, reached $112m. Combined with the Grand Slams ($104.5m), the sport's 14 biggest events delivered $216.5m (62.5% of the total) in men's player compensation for the year (2023)," explained the ATP.
