Stade de Reims: statue of Just Fontaine unveiled in front of the Stade Auguste-Delaune on 06/10/2024

Stade de Reims (Ligue 1 McDonald's) unveiled a statue of Just Fontaine (former club player and French international who died on 28/02/2023) on the forecourt of the Stade Auguste-Delaune (Reims, Marne) before the Stade de Reims - Montpellier HSC game (4-2, Matchday 7 of the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season) on Sunday 06/10/2024.

The statue erected in homage to the top goalscorer in World Cup history during a single edition (13 goals in 1958 in Sweden) is located a few metres from that of Raymond Kopa (former player of the club and French international who died on 03/03/2017), inaugurated in 2018 thanks to fundrasing from individuals and companies in Reims and nationally.

"The statue of Just Fontaine will be a daily reminder of our glorious past for our players, our supporters and all football lovers, and a source of inspiration for all those who wear and will wear the red and white jersey," said Jean-Pierre Caillot, president of Stade de Reims.
