Media: "More and more leagues will have their own platform & distribute it" (T. Benet, Mediapro)

"The fact that there are more and more audiovisual platforms suggests that rights holders are getting closer and closer to the consumers. There will be more and more leagues that have their own platform and distribute it; it is something that will happen in minor sports, but also in major sports," said Tatxo Benet, president and CEO of the audiovisual group, Mediapro, on 10/10/2024.

Benet spoke at the PRO Media & Content event, organised by Spanish media outlet 2Playbook in collaboration with Mediapro and CaixaBank (Spanish bank) in Madrid on Thursday 10/10/2024.

"There has always been a great fascination with having exclusive rights, but now, increasingly, we are seeing lots being sold to different players separately.
