UNFP: David Terrier elected president until 2028, succeeding Philippe Piat, in office since 1969

David Terrier, vice president of the UNFP since 2016, has been unanimously elected president of the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels, according to the French players' union following its elective general assembly on Saturday 12/10/2024. David Terrier has been elected until 2028, as the UNFP has changed the length of his term of office from two to four years.

Terrier, who is also president of FIFPro's European division, succeeds Philippe Piat, who has headed the UNFP for 55 years since 1969. Piat becomes the union's honorary president.

"David Terrier's election comes as no surprise. Over the last two years in particular, the former Metz player has, as they say, grown in stature thanks to his involvement in a number of major issues at both national and international level.
