Paris 2024: the Olympic Games bid will be submitted to a vote of the Council of Paris on 13/04/2015

"To be a candidate for the Olympics and Paralympics is too important a subject to be driven by enthusiasm and impatience. I've said it and I will say it again, yes, there is heart, the heart is there, and there is reason, and reason is there," said Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, at the presentation of the opportunity study for the City of Paris to be a candidate for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024, by Bernard Lapasset, president of the CFSI (French Committee of International Sport) on12/02/2015.

Anne Hidalgo will hold a first meeting with the city's political groups on 13/02/2015 and submit the candidature to the mayors of Paris' twenty arrondissements (districts) at the end of March 2015. Then the Paris city council will decide in a vote held on 13/04/2015. The council also wants to broaden the discussion to include other towns and cities in the Ile-de-France (the metropolitan area surrounding Paris), the sporting world and civil society.
