Italy: Frecciarossa (trains) to continue as Coppa Italia title sponsor for 2024-2027 (€5.5m/year)

Frecciarossa, the high-speed train service belonging to the Italian rail carrier Trenitalia, is to continue as title sponsor of the Coppa Italia for a further three seasons (2024-2027), announced the Lega Serie A on 15/10/2024. The competition will continue to be known as the "Coppa Italia Frecciarossa".

Freciarossa has been the competition's title sponsor since 2021-22, and its annual prize money will rise from €4.5m to €5.5m over the new partnership period. Freciarossa will also award a prize, at the end of the first and second half of each season, to the two players "who have recorded the highest average speed (thanks to tracking data recorded using Hawk-Eye technology)," said the Italian professional league.

"Since its launch in the 2021-22 season, the partnership with Frecciarossa for the Coppa Italia has been synonymous with success, with record television audiences and increasingly hotly contested and exciting matches on the pitch, thanks to which we have seen an increase in revenue from the sale of the competition's TV rights," said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A.
