Kings League: Djamel Agaoua (ex-NBA) appointed CEO to "maximise the potential of the competition"

Frenchman Djamel Agaoua has been appointed CEO of the Kings League, a 7-a-side football competition created by investment fund Kosmos (founded by for Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué), announced the latter on 16/10/2024.

"Djamel Agaoua joins the Kings League just after the triumphant launch of the 2024-25 season, with the first matchday racking up an audience of 7 million views. Football's biggest show is now set to expand into new markets in Europe, Brazil, North America, the Middle East and Asia over the next 12 months, with Italy leading the launch. Djamel Agaoua will lead this next phase of growth, to maximise the immense potential of the competition," explained the organisation, which recently raised €60m from private equity firms Left Lane Capital and Fillip to "invest in global growth and continued product innovation."
