Real Madrid Superior Court of Justice cancels the renovation agreement for the Bernabeu stadium

The TSJM (High Court of Justice of Madrid) "have cancelled the agreement of 15/11/2012 [...] which approved a minor amendment to the land use permit with regard to the Santiago Bernabeu (capacity 85,000). [...] Real Madrid is working with the council and the regional government of Madrid to address the necessary aspects and allow the proposed works to go ahead," said the Spanish club on 11/02/2015.

The decision sides with Ecologistas en Accion, an environmental organisation, which opposes the stadium renovation and asked the TSJM to suspend the land use permit granted to Real on 10/06/2012. The TSJM had already suspended the plan to begin the renovation of the stadium Santiago Bernabeu on 01/08/2014.

The European Commission investigate the sale of a plot to the Ciudad Deportiva

• The club signed an agreement with the city on 29/11/1996 to cede a parcel to the Ciudad Deportiva (Real's sports complex in Valdebebas) in exchange for other, to-be-determined plots.
  
  • In 1998, a new agreement was made for the city to transfer land in Las Tablas that was valued at €400,000 to €500,000.
