Ligue 1 McDonald's: a new trophy designed by artist Mathias Kiss & Christofle

"After changing its logo, visual and audio identities, and rebranding in stadiums, online and on television, LFP Media is unveiling the new Ligue 1 McDonald's trophy, created by French artist Mathias Kiss and produced by Christofle (goldsmiths)," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 17/10/2024.

"Kiss' work consists of a hexagonal base on which the competition's winners' list has been engraved since its inception in 1932-33. It is surmounted by columns decorated with grooves in the shape of 1s, each evoking the champion's place in the rankings and forming two Vs for victory. Finally, at the top is an immaculate, luminous sphere, gold-plated like the rest of the trophy," explained the League.

"A trophy is essential. It helps to embody a discipline, a competition and a brand. It is both a sporting object that is coveted by players and a brand attribute that fans dream about.
