Ligue 1 domestic TV rights 2024-2029: first instalment paid by beIN SPORTS (press)

The pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France has paid the LFP its first instalment for the domestic TV rights to the Ligue 1 McDonald's over the 2024-2029 cycle, amounting to "just under €20m," according to the French sports daily L'Équipe on 24/10/2024.

beIN SPORTS, which holds exclusive TV rights to one Ligue 1 game per matchday for €100m a season (including around €20m in sponsorship rights) until 2028-29, had still not paid the LFP the first financial instalment by the deadline set in August 2024 for the domestic L1 TV rights (unlike the platform DAZN, which holds exclusive TV rights to 8/9 games per matchday for an average of €400m a year).

The group said it was waiting "for the most basic contractual terms to be provided by the clubs and LFP Media in relation to the Ligue 1 McDonald's rights before any payment becomes due" on 22/10/2024. The second payment, due at the beginning of October 2024, has not yet been settled, however, "beIN has started the process," according to L'Équipe.
