Serie A: AS Roma mark the Chinese New Year with "Happy New Year" message on their shirt

AS Roma (Serie A) marked the Chinese New Year with the message "Happy New Year" in Mandarin on the front of their shirt in their game against Parma FC (0-0, 23^rd matchday), on 15/02/2015. The club made use of the fact that they do not have a shirt sponsor to provide such visibility to the event which was broadcast on the Chinese television channel CCTV5+.

The club is pursuing a strategy to expand in the Chinese market, also opening an official account on the Chinese social network Sina Weibo. The club already have 36,000 fans on the platform. "AS Roma will soon announce further Chinese initiatives in various areas that will further expand the club’s reach in the country," announced AS Roma.
