Germany: Eurosport acquires the rights to the FA Cup until the end of the 2017-18 season

The pay-TV group Eurosport acquired the exclusive audiovisual rights to the FA Cup for broadcast in Germany until the end of the 2017-18 season on 13/02/2015. These rights cover the broadcast on television and digital media (Internet, mobile), both live and delayed matches, highlights of these matches, as well as news about the competition. Eurosport also has the FA Cup sublicense rights in Germany.

Eurosport Germany began its broadcasts of the FA Cup with two fifth round matches of the 2014-15 edition, Aston Villa FC - Leicester City FC (2-1) and Arsenal FC - Middlesbrough FC (2-0) on 02/15/2015. The group will also broadcast the fifth round tie between Preston North End FC (League One, the 3rd division) and Manchester United FC (Barclays Premier League) on Eurosport 2 on 16/02/2015 at 20:45.

  • Eurosport also acquired the exclusive audiovisual rights (TV, Internet, mobile) in Germany from  2015-2018 to the FA Community Shield, the pre-season match that pits the winner of the FA Cup against the reigning champion of the Barclays Premier League.
