Women's Football: Spanish Footballers' Association rejects agreement due to lack of major progress

The Spanish Footballers' Association (AFE, Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles) has rejected the renewal of the collective agreement for female footballers in the First Division (Liga F) "because it does not represent a qualitative improvement on the previous agreement in force until now," announced the association, after more than a year of negotiations, following a meeting on 29/10/2024.

The Spanish General Workers' Union (UGT/Unión General de Trabajadoras y Trabajadores) adopted the same attitude and refused to sign the new text.

Liga F and the unions FUTPRO (which represents only women footballers), Futbolistas ON and CCOO (Confederación Sindical de Comisiones Obreras/Trade Union Confederation of Workers' Commissions) have signed the agreement for the second collective agreement in the Spanish women's football top flight.
