UEFA: MoU with FIFPRO Europe, which will have a seat on the executive committee from May 2025

UEFA and FIFPRO Europe have signed a memorandum of understanding to "enhance collaboration and player representation in European football governance," announced the two parties on 29/10/2024.

According to the document, which was finalised in Paris (FRA) on 28/10/2024 on the sidelines of the Ballon d'Or ceremony, the European branch of the global players' union "will for the first time take a seat within UEFA's governance structures and, from May 2025, will be represented on the UEFA Executive Committee, initially in an advisory capacity. This will help ensure that players’ voices are directly heard at European football’s highest decision-making table, alongside those of national associations, leagues and clubs."

The priorities identified also include support for the development of women's football, ongoing dialogue between the two organisations prior to any decision "impacting player employment conditions or players' workload in UEFA competitions", as well as the health and safety of these same players.
